6PM - "BARBARA'S CRUSADE"
Presenters: Kathy and Carl Hersh
Carl and Kathy Hersh, of Close-up Productions, will show a short documentary of Barbara Baer Capitman’s successful crusade to save the Art Deco Historic district. The film features new interviews collected through the Miami Beach Visual Memoirs Project and historic footage of Barbara and local developers. This video and the interviews collected through the Miami Beach Visual Memoirs Project are made possible by a grant from the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority.

11AM - "14th WORLD CONGRESS ON ART DECO CLEVELAND 2017 WITH MICK BEYER"
Mick Beyer is President of the 20th Century Society USA, an organization dedicated to the art, architecture, and design of the 20th Century. He will present a preview of the Art Deco attractions in Cleveland, Ohio, site of the 14th World Congress on Art Deco, to be held May 14-21, 2017. The theme of the Congress is "Artists, Designers, and Craftsmen," highlighting Cleveland's strong tradition of Art Deco art and craftsmanship, and in particular industrial design.
1PM - "RETRO COUTURE: MIAMI FASHION CULTURE"
Presenter: Chris Rapalo
A documentary short film will be shown on the history of the Miami fashion industry. Vintage footage from the Wolfson Archives and new interviews with locals captures the colors of Miami fashion. Filmmaker Christopher Rapalo will present the film and answer questions following the showing. The film was presented as part of the 2016 Miami Fashion Film Festival.
3PM - "COLOR AND ARCHITECTURE"
Join the discussion on how the use of color in architecture can create and define design in ways that affect mood, style, and experience.
Cheryl H Jacobs, the Executive Vice President of the Miami Center for Architecture & Design/AIA Miami, will moderate the discussion. Panelists include: Judy Carty, AIA with Carty Architecture; Oscar Glottman, AIA with Glottman; and Jason Hagopian, AIA with TSAO Design Group

Miami Beach Visual Memoirs Project will be presenting new interviews with local notables reminiscing about the story of Miami Beach. There will also be a presentation of the new educational resource ON-MiamiBeach.com
3PM - "FORTY MORE YEARS OF FABULOUS: STRUCTURAL VISIONS OF MIAMI BEACH"
This is a panel discussion on the future potential of Miami Beach’s built environment. Panelists will present their vision for the physical structure of our city.
Moderated by Mark Samuelian
Mark is a proven community leader and serves as a Director on the Board of Miami Beach United where he advocates for residents on critical citywide issues. In 2015, he ran for a seat on the Miami Beach Commission, earning The Miami Herald’s endorsement and 5,000 votes.
